Known for his long and straight throws, he received admiration during his first year in West Los Angeles Junior College and was tagged best player of the year in the Western State Conference of 1973.
Warren’s fame as a professional football player began in 1978. He played for several soccer clubs including Houston Oilers, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, Quarterback and Minnesota Vikings. Warren’s confidence enabled him to play in the National Football Leagues despite constant drawbacks and skepticism from different quarters.
Warren became the highest paid national league player after signing a five-year contract with The Oilers and was very instrumental to the team’s success. In 1990, he became the league’s best offensive player of the year.
Moon remains the only player to be recognized by two leading football organizations: the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is also credited with a record of 9205 pass attempts in the history of professional football.
Married to F. Hendricks in March 1981, Warren has four children. Moon has won several awards; named Most Valuable Player in 1983, and named Rookie of the year in 1984, among numerous other awards.
